Burn Corn
Need a way to lower heating costs and use less electricity?
There is now a way to have affordable heat by using corn as a fuel. A
stove similar to a pellet stove has been developed that will burn corn
kernels which have a moisture content of approximately 15 percent or less.
The stove is built specifically for burning corn.
Corn burns clean, there are no EPA restrictions and there
is no smoke. A vent like that for a home dryer is all that is needed.
It may be simply installed through the wall rather than requiring a chimney.
However, a chimney may also be used. Corn may be purchased from a feed
store or directly from farmers.
"The cost of operating a corn stove is a fraction
of heating with gas or electricity. Besides their use in private residences,
corn stoves may even be installed in employee housing," according
to company representative Jay Wheeler.
Due to the high efficiency, low cost and environmental
friendliness of corn burning stoves, demand is high and new orders are
being placed on a waiting list. Therefore, in order to receive a stove
by next winter, interested parties should order now.
